Tallahassee FL- A giant Menorah was lit Sunday in Tallahassee to kick off Chanukah.
Chanukah started Wednesday but today Chabad of Tallahassee celebrated the holiday with the community by creating a giant jelly bean filled menorah. The event was held at Lake Ella and was open to the public--- all in hopes of celebrating the Jewish holiday with some who may not know much about it.
Rabbi Schneur Oirechman from Chabad Of Tallahassee said, "The message of Chanukah is a universal message it's a message of light. It's a message that a little bit of light can dispel much darkness so it's not just a Jewish message it's a message for everyone."
After the Menorah was lit, they broke it down and let everyone enjoy all the jelly beans that were kept inside. Chanukah ends the night of December 5th.
