Gone But Not Forgotten: Christopher Lance Robinson

Christopher Lance Robinson was a dedicated husband, father of two, and served as the community's Fire Chief.

In January, Robinson was sworn in at his post, but only one month later, he was diagnosed with melanoma.

The 33-year-old lost his battle with the disease Friday (10/22) after it had spread throughout his body.

Now, family and friends say they are remembering the big-hearted firefighter and trying to stay happy because, they say, that's what Robinson would have wanted.

Donalsonville Fire Department Captain Trent Clark worked with Robinson at the volunteer fire department:

"Oh my goodness, [he was] just an outgoing person, I mean, he'd love to do anything for you, for anybody, regardless of what color [you are], I mean, he just enjoyed fighting fires and enjoyed the fire service."

Robinson's widow, Rebecca, told us she hoped looming rainclouds would hold off until after the funeral.

When services started at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, sunshine was the only thing coming down on the hundreds who came to pay their final respects.
