Tallahassee, FL - The Winn-Dixie off of Tharpe Street in Tallahassee gave a check to the Second Harvest of the Big Bend Friday.

The check was written for more than 18,000 lbs in food. Donations after the holiday season are hard to come by and organizers say every bit can help.

"We have partnered with [Second Harvest] in feeding local communities to try and stop hunger," said store director Raymond Karwoski.

"This time of year, this type of donation really helps us," said Rich English, Second Harvest executive director.
