Tallahassee, FL-A local group working with injured veterans received a big donation this week.

Warriors and Quiet Waters, a non-profit, received a $10,000 seed grant for its parent chapter to help pay for expenses.

The group is hoping to raise an additional $10,000 through fundraisers and donations.

The non-profit group takes veterans who've fought in either in Iraq or Afghanistan out fishing for a week of rest and relaxation.

The group says it hopes to take about 4 to 6 veterans out to Wakulla Springs and St. Marks within the new few months.

The group is hosting gulf and bass tournaments in April to help pay for the trip.

"It costs about $5,000 per soldier, per week to bring them here. And these guys deserve it, especially with the budget cuts we're looking at Federally. We have to give back to these guys," said Anthony Stevens, president of Veterans and Quiet Waters' southern chapter.

Warriors and Quiet Waters opened its southern chapter in Tallahassee in September
