Gadsden County - July 15, 2012
Two people are dead after a head on collision with another vehicle on Interstate 10 in Gadsden County Saturday night at 9:30pm. 25-year-old Robert Hunsucker III and 23-year-old passenger Decire Febus died after a vehicle, going the wrong way, crashed into them.
35-year-old Maximo Amores was traveling east in a westbound lane of Interstate 10 in a Lexus LS 400.
In another vehicle, Hunsucker III was traveling west in a westbound lane. The left front of Amores' car collided with the left front of Hunsucker's vehicle.
Amores' vehicle rotated counterclockwise and came to final rest on the south shoulder of the westbound inside lane facing
He was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. According to Florida Highway Patrol, Amores is in serious condition. He was not wearing a seat belt. A toxicology report is pending.
Hunsucker's vehicle rotated counterclockwise and came to final rest in westbound emergency lane facing a southeasterly direction. Both people were wearing seat belts and were taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. They both were pronounced dead. A toxicology report is pending.
The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by: Gadsden County Sheriff Office, Midway Police Department, Midway Volunteer Fire Department and Gadsden County Emergency
This is the ninth fatality in Gadsden County in 2012.
