Tallahassee, FL - More hot temperatures in the forecast for Wednesday has lead the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory for most of north Florida and south Georgia.
The advisory is in effect from 11am to 7pm. The heat index is forecast to be near 108° Wednesday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, these hot conditions increase the risk of heat related illnesses such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
Tips for beating the heat include drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned environment and staying out of the sun. It is also suggested to check in on relatives and neighbors to make sure they are keeping cool.
Heat advisories are issued by the National Weather Service when heat indices between 108° and 112° are expected. The heat index is determined by combining the air temperature with the humidity level.
