ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- The co-defendant of the `hiccup girl' charged in the 2010 killing of a St. Petersburg man has been found guilty of first-degree murder.

A jury returned the guilty verdict Friday night for 23-year-old Laron Raiford. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Co-defendant Jennifer Mee was 15 when she had an uncontrollable case of the hiccups that brought her media attention. Five weeks later they stopped and by the time Mee was 19 she was also charged with first-degree murder. Her trial is scheduled for a later date.

Police said she met a man online and lured him to a vacant home where Raiford and another friend robbed and shot him. Raiford was the first of the three suspects to stand trial.
