Tallahassee, FL - Every morning the True Fellowship Holiness Church in Tallahassee gathers for a prayer before service. But about five months ago, the church added something else to the morning routine that was inspired by Tallahassee homeless man.
"On Sunday's, I go hungry and I said well you come to church this Sunday and we'll have a hot meal for you, he came to church on Sunday and I told him on that day, I said, as of this day at this church it will be called Bess day," said Pastor Kenny Frame from True Fellowship Holiness Church.
Pastor Kenny Frame is talking about Eddie Bess. He lost his job three years ago after working at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he worked for more than a decade.
"Nobody knows how it feels to be out there, when the weather bad, when the weather hot, nobody knows how it feels to have nothing," said Eddie Bess, Inspired Movement.
Bess has been homeless for years, but when he found Pastor Frame his life turned around.
"This is just like a home away from home," said Bess.
Now, he is a Deacon in training and committed to getting is life back on track.
"He doesn't complain, he sleeps under a tree when it rains, but yet he still finds time to come help others," said Frame.
The church makes a dinner for the homeless people in the community every Sunday night and after church service in the mornings.
