Moultrie, GA- The Yon family is struggling to make sense of the tragic events that unfolded Friday evening.
Kirby Luis Yon, 20, was found shot to death inside a car in Moultrie.
"I just can't believe what's happened," cried Edna Yon, Kirby's grandmother. "I mean, it's just broke all of our hearts. It's torn us all apart. I mean, it's just unbelievable"
Investigators believe it was a drug deal gone bad.
"Kirby Yon had been shot multiple times, but he had a knife and had stabbed Danny Hill during the transaction; so it appeared that Yon may have attempted to stab Danny Hill and Danny Hill may have returned the fire," said Agent Steve Turner with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Hill received treatment for his injuries at an area hospital and was then taken to Colquitt County Jail.
"We arrested him for possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute."
Right now, Hill is not charged in Yon's death, but officials say that could change, pending the outcome of the investigation.
Yon's family says they know Yon wasn't perfect, but he didn't deserved to die.
"He was outgoing. He'd help you, anything that he could do. He'd give you the shirt off his back," said Teresa Yon, Kirby's mother. "He liked to joke around, fool around. He was also good at what he did; he was a tattoo artist."
Edna added, "He was my precious child. He was my whole, whole heart."
Yon would have celebrated his 21st birthday on Feb. 16.
