Honor Flight Tallahassee Press Release
This Saturday, Honor Flight Tallahassee will take more than 80 World War II veterans from around the Tallahassee region to Washington, DC on a trip to visit the memorials that stand in their honor.
Throughout the day, our veterans will be warmly greeted during their tour of Washington, DC, but one of the biggest surprises happens when the flight touches down on its return to Tallahassee.
“A Heroes Welcome” will be held on Saturday at 9:40 p.m. inside the hangar at Flightline Group, Inc. At this time, the media and community are invited to welcome our veterans home after a day spent touring Washington, DC.
Several hundred people are expected onsite to cheer our hometown heroes including members of the military, community/civic groups, family and friends.
An Honor Flight trip is provided at no cost to the veteran and the Tallahassee community has generously supported the mission of the area’s inaugural Honor Flight by donating funds, supplies and volunteer time as thanks for all that these men and women sacrificed for our country.
