Tallahassee, FL-- The crowd can clap all the way to the bank. The international event made Tallahassee a little bit richer.

Local hotels and restaurants saw a jump in sales, since last years Red Hills Horse Trials and they are still calculating the numbers.

"With Red Hills Horse Trial weekend we were sold out this weekend," Pam Bauer, Director of Marketing and Sales at Hotel Duval. "I'm sure many of our quests attended the trials and I am very certain that many of our hotel friends closer to the event were probably heavily impacted."

The Red Hills organizers say they do not have exact numbers yet, but they are using a unique way to estimate attendance.

"One of the things we track is in cross-country day we had 96 garbage containers just like the year before and we finished the year with thirty empty containers," said Tom Barron, a Red Hills Horse Trials Spokesperson. "This year toward the end of the day we were down ten."

With mother nature on our side, it's no wonder organizers saw more people over the three day event from last year.

The Red Hills organizers say the numbers will take at least a month to calculate.
