Tallahassee, Fla. 9-28-13
Hundreds of runners took to Holy Comforter Episcopal School in Tallahassee for the third annual Run For Lawson event.
Four years ago, Lawson Mayfield died from a rare disease called bacterial meningitis. Since then her parents Cathy and Emory have held the races to raise money and awareness about meningitis.
Not including Saturday, the group has raised more than $70,000 for the National Meningitis Association. Eyewitness News reporter James Buechele helped emcee the event.
