I-10 Accident Ties Up Traffic [SLIDE SHOW]

Tallahassee, FL - A 1990 Lincoln Sedan was traveling eastbound on I-10 in the center lane, as a 2000 Ford SUV was traveling eastbound on I-10 in the inside lane. The Ford SUV began to hydroplane, causing it to rotate clockwise while traveling southeast. The SUV traveled across the outside lane and onto the south shoulder, where the front left of collided with the guardrail.

This initial collision caused the SUV to rotate clockwise again causing the SUV's left side to collide with the guardrail for a second collision. The SUV then traveled northeast into the center lane and into the direct travel path of the Sedan. The front left of the Lincoln Sedan collided with the rear left of the Ford SUV, for the third and final collision.

The SUV continued traveling northeast before coming to a controlled stop in the median. The SUV came to final rest was facing north while in the median and completely blocking the inside lane.

FHP was able to clear the scene with minor delays, with the help of Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County EMS, and Fire Rescue.

Tallahassee, FL - A traffic accident on I-10 this morning snarled traffic, blocking an eastbound lane for 20 minutes. FHP troopers reported to the scene around 8:40 am.

Florida Highway Patrol reports that the accident involved a white car and a red SUV. The white car was facing east in the eastbound breakdown lane. It had damage to its front passenger side. The red SUV had front and back end damage on its drivers side.

One person from the SUV was transported to the hospital with injuries. Their id and extent of injuries is unknown. No one else was reported injured.

At this time, all lanes are open. Florida Highway Patrol reports that there was debris in the road and damage to a guard rail.

Tallahassee, FL - A traffic accident on I-10 tied up traffic this morning for over an hour.

Florida Highway Patrol arrived on scene around 8:40 am.

All I-10 eastbound lanes were blocked near mile marker 202.

The roadway is now open, but drivers are urged to use caution in the area.
