She was supposed to be performing her duties as a correctional officer at Jefferson Correctional Institution. Instead, officers say 46-year-old Pamela Branch was breaking the law.
A joint investigation with state law enforcement agencies, including the DOC, shows she was involved in:
- Trafficking in Oxycodone.
- Identity theft.
- Conspiracy to introduce contraband into the institution.
- Receiving unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior.
She turned herself in Monday and bonded out the same day.
All four charges against Branch are felony charges.
She has been employed with the Department of Corrections since May 2003. An agency spokesperson said Branch has just been fired.
