As the city of Tallahassee gears up for the big Winter Festival, they're paying respect to someone who helped make it all come true.

Wednesday, they dedicated the Kleman Plaza Amphitheater to former city commissioner and mayor Steve Meisburg.

At a ceremony, city officials spoke about Meisburg's accomplishments and experience they've had with him. They tell us he was the brain behind bringing an ampitheater to Kleman Plaza. He was excited to attend the ceremony and see old friends.

"I think it's just one of the highest honors I've ever received, watching this whole project come into fruition is just been an amazing thing," Meisburg said.

The dedication ceremony was a prelude to the downtown Winter Festival, which Meisburg also had a hand in creating.
