Last Day of North Florida Fair

By  |

Tallahassee, FL - November 13, 2012 - As most people had the day off many went to the North Florida Fair

Today marks the final day to enjoy a funnel cake and some rides at the fairgrounds.

The 71st annual North Florida Fair lucked out this year because of a leap year veterans day fell on a Sunday and we observed the holiday today. Which means an extra day the fair remains open.

The weather has been great almost every day. The fair remains open until 9 tonight they're treating it like a Sunday because most people have school and work tomorrow.

WCTV spoke with organizer Mark Harvey, and he says things have gone as smooth as he had hoped for, and they could be in line for some big numbers.

Mark Harvey, Fair Organizer, stated, "well we've had a great run of it the weather on the weekends have been spectacular everybody knows that. It's kinda been cool in the evenings but its (CUE JB) been real good attendance I actually think well break the record that was set last year."

Last year, the number of people who attended was more than 101,000 and as you just heard that number will probably be broken this year especially with the extra day here.
