Tallahassee, FL - It was now or never for shoppers still trying to find that perfect Christmas gift. Christmas Eve is one of the busiest shopping days of the season.

'Twas the day before Christmas, and all through the mall,
last-minute shoppers were everywhere,
down every single hall.

"Everybody's bumping into everybody. It's crazy and I'm ready to go home." Says, one shopper, Pamela Sapp.

One survey says 69 percent of retailers say electronics is the hottest spending category this holiday season. There's also been a mad dash to find Lego toys, video games and headphones.

Sapp says she just wants to get what's on her daughter's wish list and get out. She says, "I think they're called the Hi-Low shirts, I don't know. But, it's high in the top and low in the bottom; and money, and jewelry and that's about it."

Shopper, Perry Marsh, says, "I put it off because I'm a man. It's probably the largest men's shopping day of the year. We put it off long enough--too long. That's what we do, we work better under pressure. We just have to have that pressure pushing us before we're actually going to get out and do. My wife's a big planner, I'm a wait and let's do it at the last minute."

Some shoppers say they just didn't have time before now.

Tallahassee resident Raymond Gaines says, "This is actually my first Christmas off in about ten years. I work 70 hours every other week and I'm just getting off. So, we have to do it when we can."

Most stores and malls closed at 6:00, but, places like Walmart are open until 8 p.m. Christmas Eve.

One idea for last-minute shoppers who can't -- or don't want to go out stores, is giving an app. For iPhone and iPad, you can go to App Store and scroll down to "Send Gift."

For Androids, your options for instant gift cards are to go through Amazon, where you can instantly give an Amazon Appstore gift via email or Facebook, or print it from your computer.
