Tallahassee, Florida -September 27, 2012

Several hundred people showed up for the sixth annual Art and Soul Celebration.

The celebration benefits local artists and the Lemoyne Center for the Visual Arts, which hosted the event. This year's theme was 'Hot and Saucey.'

The event included food, live music and an auction of nearly 200 pieces of art. About 60 percent of the proceeds went to the artists. The rest went to the Lemoyne Center.

" We have had our hard times just like a lot of non-profits have, but we're back and the people are showing their support and faith in us," Ann Kozeliski, executive director of the Lemoyne Center.

The Lemoyne Center works to promote education and interests in contemporary visual art. The Center hopes to raise about $20,000 through the benefit.
