Discounted Dental Program Coming to Leon County

Tallahassee, Florida-A visit to the dentist may become more affordable for Leon County residents.

The Leon County Commissioners approved a measure to allow residents to enroll in a discounted dental plan offered through the National Association of Counties.

The NACo Discounted Dental Program costs $59 dollars a year for individuals and $69 dollars a year for families.

The program is available to all residents. It offers discounts from 5 to 50 percent on dental care and up to 20 percent on orthopedic care.

"I have people in my district that do not have dental insurance. They do not have the ability to get to the dentist and it's opened up an opportunity for them and their families to receive dental care," says Leon County District 2 Commissioner Jane Sauls.

The County says residents can began enrolling the the program by the end of the year.

The program is handled through Careington International.

There is no cost to the County for participating in the program.
