Tallahassee, FL-Jazz music filled the Leroy Collins Library Sunday.

The Florida State University Jazz Combo performed there as part of Leon County's Black History Month Celebration.

The concert paid tribute to legendary Jazz performers like Thelonious Monk, Sonny Stitt and others.

FSU Music Professor Paul McKee directed the performance.

"The roots of Jazz very much come from African American Culture so it's definitely an indigenous American Art form. A lot of the prominent practitioners of the music have been African American including all of the composers represented here today," said McKee.

Pieces from Duke Ellington and Charlie Parker were also featured in the performance.
