Tallahassee, FL -Today was full of applause, laughter and tears.

It was high school graduation day for Chiles and Lincoln High School. More than 800 seniors combined received their diploma. Both ceremonies were held at the Leon County Civic Center. Chiles Class of 2014 Valedictorian Jimmy Zhang spoke about his goals after high school.

"I might want to be a professor when I grow up so I can do research and teach at the same time. So I can make new discoveries but also inspire the next generation of thinkers," said Zhang.

Zhang wants to continue to help others. He will pursue a degree in economics at Stanford University.

Chiles High School’s Principal believes that previous graduates help to inspire students like Zhang.

"We have whatever program you can think about at the school. We have graduates that come back and help out and try to have left a legacy and so now these kids will get a chance to do the same and we will look forward to that," said Chiles Principal Joseph Burgess.
