All Leon County offices and libraries, with the exception of Parks and Recreation facilities, will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3, in observance of Labor Day. All County parks will remain open.
The Leon County Solid Waste Management Facility on Apalachee Parkway and Marpan Recycling will be closed on Sept. 3. Waste Management, Inc., will be closed that day as well. Collection routes, for Waste Management, Inc., will be delayed one day that week. Monday’s route will be run on Tuesday; Tuesday’s route will be run on Wednesday and so on through Saturday. The Collins Main Library will re-open on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m., and the branch libraries will re-open Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Leon County Animal Control will also be closed; however, in the event of an emergency, service is available by calling the Leon County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 922-3300. Leon County Animal Control encourages residents to only use this service in cases of dangerous or aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals, animal cruelty or animal bites. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St. Francis Wildlife Association at (850) 627-4151.
