Leon County Holiday Closures and Service Changes for Veterans Day

All Leon County offices, libraries and community centers will be closed on Monday, November 12 in observance of Veterans Day. All County parks facilities will remain open.

The Leon County Solid Waste Management Facility on Apalachee Parkway, the Hazardous Waste Center and Waste Management, Inc., will be closed. Waste collection routes will be delayed one day that week.

Monday’s route will run on Tuesday. Tuesday’s route will run on Wednesday and so on through Saturday. The Rural Waste Service Centers are normally closed on Mondays and will not be affected by the holiday. Marpan Recycling will be open regular hours from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Division at (850) 606-1800. The Collins Main Library will re-open on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m., and the branch libraries will re-open Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Leon County Animal Control will also be closed; however, in the event of an emergency, service is available by calling the Leon County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 922-3300.

Leon County Animal Control encourages residents to only use this service in cases of dangerous or aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals, animal cruelty or animal bites. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St. Francis Wildlife Association at (850) 627-4151.
