Tallahassee, FL-November 10, 2012

A group of local cadets are doing their part to honor veterans this weekend.

Cadets from FSU's ROTC program and Company of M-16 are standing guard at the Florida Vietnam Memorial for the next 24 hours.

It's part of the 22nd Annual Veterans Day Vigil.

The cadets are each working one hour shifts guarding the memorial.
The first shift started at 11 a.m. Saturday. It will end at 11 Sunday morning with a wreath laying ceremony.

"It just means a lot to be able to support the people who have kept my freedom up until now and who will continue to keep my freedom," says Ashley Guy of FSU's Company M-16.

Those participating are members of FSU's National Society of Pershing Rifles, Company M-16 and its Army R-O-T-C program.
