Tallahassee FL- Pumpkin's, potatoes and some peanuts have been planted on a new community garden.

Today, the Pumpkin Place Community Garden was dedicated to the Leon County Community.

For about a year residents living in the Lake Jackson Heights neighborhood have worked with the Leon County Commission to create this community garden, and now they finally have it in place.

Frank Voran the Pumpkin Place Community Garden Spokesman told us, "We have this wonderful gift and it's a real blessing to be able to build community with people and plant seeds. It's been a lot of work but a great deal of fun getting to know people in the neighborhood."

We were told the garden will grow plants which reflect the areas historical crops like Seminole pumpkins. Today they planted more plants as they plan on expanding their gardening venture.
