A social media tip has led to the arrest of a local pastor.
49 year old convicted sex offender Timothy Jenkins is accused of violating his probation by having contact with children.
New Year's Eve, a revival was held at the Agape Covenant Fellowship on North Monroe Street in Tallahassee.
One of the speakers was Pastor Timothy Jenkins, who led his own small church called the Reach Out Ministry of Hope on Crawfordville Road.
A Facebook post about his appearance at the revival led to a tip about Jenkins being a convicted sex offender.
Two days later Jenkins returned to Agape with a young girl.
A Florida Department of Corrections probation and parole officer later arrested Jenkins.
We spoke to a woman who lives in the apartment complex where Jenkins lived and doesn't want to be identified.
"I have seen a couple of kids come there off and on, yes, I have seen kids come there," she said.
According to state records, Jenkins was convicted of sexual battery by an adult of a victim under 12 years old in Duval County.
Jenkins' arrest report accuses him of violating terms of his supervision by having contact with minors.
The report says Jenkins has been instructed on several occasions not to have contact with any minors.
The woman in his apartment complex says she knew Jenkins was a sex offender from a text alert.
She has two children, ages 8 and two months.
"That's very scary because if I wouldn't have had that text alert on my phone, I wouldn't have never knew that he was a sex predator, that's dangerous," she said.
Jenkins is being held at the Leon County Jail.
He's expected to be taken to Jacksonville to face the charge of violating his probation in Duval County.
