Local Boy Scouts Help the Hungry
On Saturday, February 4, 2012, the Scouts of the Suwannee River Area Council, Boy Scouts of America in our 13 county service area will be collecting food to help the hungry in our community.

(Tallahassee, FL, February 3, 2012) -
On Saturday, February 4, 2012, the Scouts of the Suwannee River Area Council, Boy Scouts of America in our 13 county service area (Leon, Liberty, Gadsden, Wakulla, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor Counties in Florida and Seminole, Decatur, Grady, Thomas, and Colquitt Counties) will be collecting food to help the hungry in our community. All food collected in Leon County will be brought to Second Harvest Food Bank, 110 Four Points Way in Tallahassee.
Donations may be brought to Second Harvest between the hours of 9 am- 12:00 pm. Items needed include: canned meats/fish, fruit juice, soups, baby formula, jello, pudding mix, pasta, sauces, canned fruit, canned vegetables, baby cereal, powdered milk, peanut butter, hot or cold cereal. No outdated or opened items, please.
This food collection is part of Scouting For Food, an effort by Packs and Troops around our nation to fight hunger.
In keeping with the values of Scouting, Scouts devote themselves to community service. Along with year round activities of crafts, outings, games and projects, Scouts seek to be of service to others.

I used to support this stuff. Now I pay way too many taxes for people to get everything free. If the Democrats think charity means taking other people's money and rewarding them for laziness, then I have given my share. I love the boy scouts but no support this time.
Not buying my ususal stash of GS cookies this year so I will assist the boy scouts. Will miss those cookies though.
