Local Hospital Awarded An 'A'

TALLAHASSEE, FL ---- June 7, 2012
Capital Regional Medical Center was given the highest grade when it comes to patient safety.
The study was run by the independent nonprofit 'The Leapfrog Group. The hospitals were assigned an A, B, C, D or F for their safety. The study looked at publicly available data on patient injuries, medical and medication errors and infections.
"These measures are done on a quarterly basis," said chief nursing officer Ann Smith. "We actually look at these concurrently, many of these measures, from hand hygiene to core measures."
Tallahassee Memorial Hospital was given a 'C' grade.
