Valdosta, GA - With the warmer weather comes fresh fruit and veggies.. but all too often, they can go bad before you get the chance to enjoy them.
Fear not! Lowndes County Schools to the rescue. They're opening up a food processing center and canning plant this summer, which will feature an industrial grade juicer and canning services.
"They like to have the extra help and make the mess in our area instead of in their area. And I enjoy helping them out and they enjoy talking to us and getting to know each other as well", says upcoming Senior and canning plant worker, Kameron Lamp.
The Canning Plant is open to the public at 7:00 am on Mondays... Wednesdays... Fridays... and Saturdays through July 16. The plant is located behind the student parking lot at Lowndes High.
