A Madison County man faces DUI charges after troopers say he left the scene of a crash.
Carl Spakman was driving south on NE Macedonia Church Road in Madison around 12:30 Saturday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Spakman lost control of his vehicle while texting.
Spakman went off the road and hit a fence and pole. He was not hurt. FHP says Spakman then drove away.
Troopers arrested him shortly after. Spakman is charged with driving under the influence, DUI with property damage, leaving the scene of a crash and careless driving.
