THE VILLAGES, Florida -- August 12, 2012
The Florida Highway Patrol reports a 70-year-old man has died after falling from a golf cart.
The incident occurred Saturday at about 8:30 p.m. in The Villages, a central Florida retirement community about 60 miles northwest of Orlando.
Investigators say 65-year-old Charles Haines was negotiating a roundabout when for unknown reasons passenger David Tillman fell off and hit the curb. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to The Villages Regional Medical Center where he died.
The incident remains under investigation.
