Thomasville, GA- A man is accused of robbing a South Georgia store where he used to work.
The owner of Harper Seafood, located along West Jackson Street in Thomasville, says he was closing the store Friday evening shortly before 7 p.m. when he was ambushed.
The owner recognized the robber as his former employee, 23-year-old Terrence Golden, Jr.
Police say Golden pushed the owner against a newspaper rack outside the business and then snatched two bags of money, before taking off on foot.
The store owner and folks from a nearby car wash took off after him.
Lt. Eric Hampton with the Thomasville Police Department said one of the witnesses eventually caught up with Golden in a wooded area along Campbell Street.
The witness held Golden down until police arrived.
Golden was arrested and charged with strong robbery of a business.
The money was recovered and returned to the store's owner.
