Colquitt County, GA- Investigators with the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office say, 37-year-old Bartolo Ramon Palma was arrested after two young girls came forward with a disturbing story.

"There was a disclosure last week to a family member; two girls, one age eight and one age six; that they had been contacted sexually be an adult," said Lt. Shawn Bostick with the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say that adult is Bartolo Palma.

"It appears that the suspect had been actually having intercourse with the children, and that's where the rape charges come from," Bostick said.

Deputies say, after further investigation, it appeared there was a third victim involved as well.

"The children also disclosed that a third child, age 10, had also been sexually abused in their presence," Bostick said.

Palma is denying the allegations against him, however, investigators say the childrens' claims have been backed by medical evidence.

"The children were examined and there seems to be medical evidence in place that suggests the childrens' disclosure was accurate," Bostick added.

Deputies say they believe the sexual abuse was going on for the past year and there could more charges.

A judge has denied Palma bond.
