Perry, Florida- August 13, 2012
Police chased down and arrested a man for assault, but instead of finding a weapon, they found cocaine.
The Perry Police Department received a call saying 34-year-old Freddie Johnson assaulted a woman with a hand gun.
Then police saw Johnson crossing the intersection of Schwartz Street at Vorth Avenue in Perry.
He ran, but it was a short chase and he was arrested.
Police didn't find a gun, but they said he threw away a can of Altoids that had 45 baggies of cocaine in it.
In the arrest report, one of the detectives said he believes the drugs were for personal use.
"The way these items were packaged and the container they were kept in gives this officer [belief] that this cocaine was
for sale, not for personal consumption."
Johnson is charged with possession of cocaine and resisting arrest.
