One In Serious Condition Following Madison County Shooting

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that during the early morning hours of Sunday the 12th day of January 2014 at approximately 2:08 AM, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call concerning a shooting taking place at a local establishment called “Divine Events”.

The establishment is located at 5806 Colin Kelly Highway in Madison Florida. Officers responded and confirmed that shots had been fired and there were two gunshot wound victims and two additional victims that were struck by fleeing vehicles that were possibly involved in the shooting.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Live Oak Field Office responded and assisted with processing the scene and also special agent assistance with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will be assisting the Sheriff’s Office in the investigation. The investigations remains pending suspect(s) identity and arrest. One gunshot victim has been treated and released and the other is in serious but stable condition.

Tallahassee FL- Officials are searching for suspects following a shooting in Madison County.

Bits of tire and bumper litter the driveway to Divine Events in Madison County. A spot which turned into a crime scene around two a-m Sunday morning.

"Officers responded to a shooting upon arrival they found one victim that was shot, and later the investigation exposed a second victim that was shot," explained Epp Richardson with the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

Richardson told us, both the Madison County Sheriff's Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement are working together on the investigation.

We were able to talk to the Owner of Divine Events, who told us they rent out the facility to anyone who wants to have a party and that the party was over when shots were heard.

Although she didn't want to be on camera she told us she was upset by the incident. "It's scary," She said "We will not be having anymore of those parties."

For now there is an investigation open looking into what happened.
"Well we have identified the majority of the victims in this large event and certain suspects are in the process of being identified as well and an investigation is pending."

The Sheriff's Office could not give us the status of the condition of the two shooting victims.

Madison--- A local freelance reporter and several people living in the area say FDLE has roped off an area at a party venue, Divine Events where a man was shot in the face and another person was hit by a car early Sunday morning.
