Leon County, Florida - September 22, 2012
A man is dead after being ejected from the car he was driving, Saturday at 4:30am in Leon County. Torrance Green, 36, was driving northeast on Baum Road approaching Steeds Run Road.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, for unknown reasons, Green left the northeast paved lane and drove onto the east grassy shoulder.
The release says Green over corrected the car's direction of travel. Green lost control of his 2002 Chevrolet Blazer as it was moving in a northeasterly direction.
According to FHP, the vehicle began to rotate in a clockwise direction and the car left the roadway onto the east shoulder.
The car's front bumper collided with the culvert on the east shoulder. The car began to overturn onto its roof ejecting Green before coming to final rest.
Torrance Green was pronounced dead by the Leon County Medical System paramedic on scene. According to FHP, he was brought to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
According to the release, Green was not wearing a seatbelt. A toxicology report is pending.
Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by the Leon County Sheriff's Department and the Leon County Medical Emergency System.
