FAMU Student Killed In Fatal Car Crash

We're still learning more about the fatal accident that occurred at approximately 12:50am on Saturday, February 1, 2014.

The Tallahassee Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash in the 1200 block of East Paul Russell Road.

The vehicle was traveling west on Paul Russell Road between Blair Stone Road and Jim Lee Road.

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, 25-year-old Kristopher D'angelo Gibson, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators with TPD's Traffic Homicide Unit responded to investigate the crash and the investigation is ongoing at this time.

The Student Body President of Florida A&M University tells us Gibson was a FAMU alumnus. Gibson went to Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, FL, and later attended FAMU until 2011, where he majored in Political Science.
