Man in Connection with Murder Case Sentenced in Court

A man arrested in connection with murder was sentenced in court Wednesday morning.

Jeremiah Gillyard, 20 at the time of the crime, was accused of credit card theft and fraud.

Prosecutors say his friend Gary Givens, robbed and killed 75-year-old James "Ed" Campbell.

This incident happened back in March at Campbell's home in Madison county.

Campbell was a retired New Port Richie school principal who settled in Madison.

State officials said they believe Gillyard didn't know about the murder and just aided in the use of the stolen property.

He was given two years probation on two counts of credit card theft and given 124 days county jail for two counts of credit card fraud.

He has already served that time.
