UPDATE --

Washington County Sheriff’s Department PIO Andrea Gainey says Lawrence Brown did turn himself in but not clear when he did it today.

Chipley, FL - January 3, 2012 --

A small Caryville neighborhood in Washington County was on edge for yet another day Tuesday.

Lawrence Brown, 60 years old, the man accused of stabbing Micah Taylor, 22 years old, at least nine times Saturday night, was still on the loose.

"You never know. He might be in these woods, and you never know if he's going to try and do it to me or one of my kids," said Felicia Denton, a family friend of the Taylor's.

Denton and her fiance Randall Taylor live a few houses down from the stabbing scene. Taylor is Micah's uncle.

"I walked up to the house, there was a big puddle of blood up there, and I was coming back down back to my mother's house, and there was blood streamed all up on the porch," said Taylor.

Taylor said his nephew made it to his mother's home where they called 911 around 3:30 Saturday morning.

"What was the relation? Were they friends? Do you guys even know how this could have happened?," asked News Channel 7's Bryan Anderson.

"No sir, I don't," said Taylor.

While the family is left wondering, News Channel 7 learned it may have something to do with Kendra Dumas, 22 years old. She's seen in Micah's Facebook profile picture and on her Facebook profile she says "I am 22 and the proud mother of an awesome 8 month old little boy: Dylin Reid Brown."

The Washington County Sheriff's Office did not release any information on the incident until Tuesday, claiming it would have jeopardized the investigation.
