Florida Governor Rick Scott says manufacturing jobs make up 4.3 percent of jobs in Florida. He says it's not enough.
Scott joined manufactorers from across the state Tuesday to celebrate Manufacture Days at the Capitol.
Scott says he's committed to eliminating the tax on manufacturing equipment.
He says it will level the playing field to compete with other states.
He als says it will save Florida manufacturing companies $140 million annually.
Scott says, "What do companies do when they have more money in their pocket? They hire more people. They do more research. They do more marketing. All those things end up in more jobs. So, if you go back and look at my budget, it's all about growth."
Scott and members of the Manufacturers Association signed a placard. It will sit in front of the Governor's office to serve as a reminder of the tax elimination committment.
