Tallahassee, FL - Manufacturers from around the region met at Tallahassee Community College Tuesday. Dozens showed up to learn how to gain access to grants designed to improve their businesses.
The Manufacturers Association of Florida partnered with Workforce Florida and Workforce Plus to hold the roundtable discussion. Workforce Florida has two training grants initiatives available to manufacturers that are designed to help businesses and their workers enhance on the job skills.
"They're the types of employers who sell their goods and services outside of our region, that brings new dollars into our economy, so with those very tight margins we want to make sure that we can reduce the costs, the labor costs if you will, so that company can be as strong and healthy as they can be," said Beth Kirkland, executive director of the Tallahassee-Leon County Economic Development Council.
Tuesday's roundtable was one of seven designed to benefit companies and their employees.
