Tallahassee, FL--I want to fly like a bird. That is what Faith Drewry dreamed of being when she was a child. Years later, she soared beyond her wildest dreams and became a pilot and one of the owners of the FL Aviation Center flight school in Tallahassee.
"Find a home," said Faith Drewry, Owner of the FL Aviation Center. "Find a place to pursue that passion and that's why we created a flight school it was to provide a base of operation and an outreach to the community. "
The community came out to celebrate Women in Aviation week for the First Ever Fly it Forward festival.
"What we found is their is a tremendous growing interest in women entering these fields that were predominately male oriented and we feel that it is the responsibility as instructors, teachers and professionals in the community to help support these women so that they can be successful," said Peter Carafano, Director of the Student Astronaut Challenge.
"The fact that I am part of such a small group of women," said Elizabeth Hernandez, an Aviation Enthusiast. "I feel very inspired."
Women with wings inspired young professionals interested in aviation and Faith would not trade it in for the world.
"Never this is the best thing that I can be doing and I love it," said Drewry. "Flying is just so exhilarating."
