September 9th, 2012 at approximately 1:21 p.m., officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Wonder Rd., on a Brown in color, Pontiac car.
Upon conducting the stop for the traffic infraction of safety belt violation, contact was made with the driver of the vehicle, Torence Clemmons.
During the traffic stop, K-9 “Jyro” was deployed on the vehicle which resulted in a probable cause search of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle officers were able to locate a cigarette pack located in the passenger seat of the vehicle which contained Crack Cocaine.
Torence Clemmons was arrested and is being charged with possession of a controlled substance (Crack Cocaine).
Torence Clemmons was transported to the Marianna Police Department for processing and later taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
