There's a new principal at Lowndes High School.
Principal Jay Floyd is finishing his second week on the job. His last job was as a high school principal in North Georgia.
Floyd comes in with a track record of improving graduation rates, attendance and participation in honors programs.
"I would like for parents to know that when they have a kid that comes to Lowndes High School that they're going to have people here that care about them and know them and love them just like their own kids and hopefully in their four years here they'll have a great experience," said Jay Floyd, Lowndes High School Principal.
Principal Floyd takes over for Wes Taylor who was promoted to Lowndes County Superintendent.
