[UPDATE] April 12, 2012 -

MEIGS, GA -- A former Meigs police officer will be going to jail after entering a plea in his case involving the statutory rape of a 13 year old girl.

Former Meigs police officer Brandon Lucky, indicted on statutory rape charges in two different counties, plead guilty Wednesday in Mitchell County.

"In my opinion I think it was an excessive sentence," said Meigs Police Chief Chris Luckey, Brandon's brother.

Brandon Luckey plead guilty April 11, 2012 to two counts of enticing a child in Mitchell County.

Luckey was a 23 year-old Meigs police officer when he was taken into custody by GBI in September 2011 for sexual activity with a 13 year-old girl.

"It's a serious offense, I'm not going to take that away from the crime itself, however, like I said, there's extenuating circumstances to every case," said Chief Luckey.

Chris Luckey said that the judge ignored the plea of 20 years with 8 served in prison for Brandon.

Chief Chris Luckey also wanted to make it clear that it did not matter whether it was his brother or John Doe, he thought the sentencing was excessive. Brandon Luckey still has pending charges in Thomas County.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but unless you were there & saw everything with your OWN EYES then you don't have a clue of what REALLY happened! Granted he's 23 & she's 13 BUT I'm sure she knew what she was doing, all these KIDS are trying to be "grown" wayy before their time, both should be punished!! And all this judging & bashing the "luckey boys" isn't making anything any better! Look around those aren't the only ones that have done wrong in this world! But small minded people only want to talk trash & bash them.
