"Jesus is the reason for the season," a catchy phrase used by many across the country and right here in the capital city.
But, should Christmas be considered a religious holiday? A group of people who gathered at the old capital Satuday afternoon believe so.
"This is just an opportunity to celebrate the season in a way that truly represents what it's all about," says Freddy David, President of Market Faith Ministries.
The service included singing, praise and uplift centered around the Christmas season.
But, not everyone believes Christmas should be celebrated as a religious holiday.
"To tie it to a specific religion at this point would just be unnecessary and exclusive for people that don't necesarily suscribe to that," said Zachary Rhodes, a Tallahassee Resident.
Daniel Metz, Tallahassee Resident, echoed a similar message.
"In public schools in Tallahassee, the word Christmas was used more than holiday and I felt like new students were offended," Metz said.
"I feel like the meaning of the word isn't so much about believing in Jesus Christ, just is about celebrating the winter time."
Regardless of whether one believes it should be Merry Christmas or happy holidays, most can probably agree it is a time to be thankful for the gift of life.

Who knows what happens when we die? I'm catholic but I believe we may have come from other planets and that we might get to go a new world or be reincarnated. Besides for all that say people who don't believe will go to hell, remember God is all knowing and all powerful, he will do things we don't understand. For that reason I believe as long as you are good, no matter what you believe, you will have a good afterlife. Merry Christmas, and wish me whatever the hell you are.
Dale, who do you pray to?
