Tech Sergeant Eric Kunzman said "last time I saw him was February, fourth of February, last year. And I thought about him every day."
After more than a year apart, the feeling was mutual for six year old Christian Kunzman.
His mom, Crystal Kunzman, said "he talks about him every day. Every morning he says he misses him."
Christian was expecting to see a demonstration by Moody Air Force Base's Fire Department. Little did he know his dad was back from overseas... and was on his way.
Eric said "this is more nerve wracking than a fire. A fire doesn't have feelings. My son does."
That was clear from the moment father and son were reunited. When Christian saw his dad he said he "I'm very very happy!"
His mom said she feels "complete. My heart is whole again. I felt like there was always something missing with him being gone."
Eric said "it's almost like being a new dad once again. Like he's being born again. Only he's a lot bigger!"
The Kunzman's will be moving to Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington State next week. They'll be going as a family.
