New leadership has taken over at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta.
Colonel Norman Dozier took command of the 23rd Mission Support Group during a formal Assumption of Command Ceremony today. Dozier comes from the Pentagon, where he planned and executed the operations and maintenance budget for 72 Air Force Installations worldwide. He will be replacing Colonel Ford, who is already reassigned. The deputy who lead the group before Dozier arrived says the transition is both exciting and daunting.
Michael Jones, Deputy Mission Support Group Commander said, "For the most part, we will continue to do the mission. and being successful in what we do with day-to-day operations. We will just have a different flavor or different tone under Colonel Dozier's leadership."
Dozier's day-to-day operations will include managing Security Forces, ensuring all the aircrafts have their parts, ensuring the base has all it's utilities, and many other responsibilities.
