Morning Accident Claims Life of Taylor County Teen [ACCIDENT REPORT ATTACHED]

Taylor County, Florida- September 11, 2012- 1pm

Neighbors, friends and family confirm that Caleb Sullivan is the 16 year old hit by a car early Tuesday morning in Taylor County.

Sullivan was attempting to cross the street when 63 year old Shirley Thomas struck him with the right front portion of her vehicle.

A classmate tells us Sullivan was an 11th grader at Taylor County High School. He said Sullivan was always at his bus stop early and was a nice, down to earth person.

September 11, 12:02am--Taylor County, FL

The accident happened around seven o'clock this morning 9/11 on U.S. Highway 27 in Perry.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers say a 16 year old boy was trying to cross the busy highway at Henry Gibson Road, when he was hit by an SUV. Troopers say 63 year old Shirley Thomas was driving the SUV and tried to avoid hitting the boy, but struck him with the front right side of the SUV. Troopers have not released the boy's identity, but say he died from his injuries. No charges have been filed against Thomas at this time. Troopers say they're still investigating the crash.

We're trying to find out more about the victim in this case, where he was headed and try to get reaction from those who knew the teen.
