TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- An intersection was closed for nearly an hour and a half this afternoon following an accident that sent one woman to the hospital.
Tallahassee police were called to a traffic crash at the intersection of Ocala Road and Tharpe Street around 11:55 a.m. Thursday morning.
Police say that a Chrysler minivan turned left in front of a Subaru at the light.
The female driver of the minivan was transported to a local hospital by EMS for minor injuries. TPD says that a traffic homicide unit was called to investigate the crash as a precautionary measure due to the driver being pregnant.
The intersection was closed until around 1:30 p.m. for the investigation.
TPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, but did not remain at the scene to call (850) 891-4200 and ask to speak with the Traffic Homicide Unit.
